Something to Celebrate
There’s always something to celebrate in the Lower North Thompson Valley. There are fun events planned for every season. In the spring you can celebrate Tod Mountain Days and in the summer bring the whole family to Barriere’s Music in the Park. In the cooler months put on your boots and head over to the Fall Fair and Rodeo, and in the winter, head up to the Sun Peaks Winter Wine Festival.
Barriere Fall Fair and Rodeo
The North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo in Barriere features fun events such as bull riding and steer wrestling. It’s the only BC fall fair that still features the classic pony chariot and chuck wagon races. Take colours, sights and smells of the locals’ handicrafts as you walk down the rows of goodies at the fall fair. There are several events at the Agriplex throughout the year. Check the events calendar for ones happening during your visit!
Barriere Bandshell Fridays
Come dance or just tap your feet every Friday in July and August at the Barriere Bandshell ‘Music in the Park’ event. The music starts at 6 p.m. in Fadear Park – located in downtown Barriere. Come alone or with a group, bring a lawn chair or a blanket and start your Friday off right, doing what Barriere locals love to do!
